You may recall that a couple of weeks ago, a revolution of sorts broke out over tax-evading appointees to this administration's cabinet. Well, there have been some changes since Rick Santelli's anger erupted on CNBC, and he said he was "thinkin' of havin' a Chicago Tea Party . . ." It was clear then that he spoke for those on the floor - it is clear now that he spoke for non-recipients of the bailout all over the country. Chicago Tea Parties are being held nationwide on Friday, February 27. (You can get information on locations in other states at the TCOT Report.) Chicago's own Chicago Tea Party will begin at Daley Plaza, 50 W. Washington, at 11 A. M. Friday, and end at the Michigan Avenue Bridge - Tribune Tower. You can sign up for updates at Official Chicago Tea Party site.
Oh - you might want to bring lots and lots of quarters for parking. It'll get you in the mood.
