Pat's post, "R.I.P. Recall" (May 5, 2008) commented on the issue of a recall amendment to the Illinois Constitution. Senate President Emil Jones , at the time, said no piece of legislation should ever be aimed at one individual.
Lt. Governor Pat Quinn, was able to place an advisory referendum on this very subject on the Nov. 4th ballot in Chicago and Cook County. Progress Illinois talks about the results and includes a link to a Chicago Tribune opinion piece that encouraged a "Yes" vote.
Take a moment to read the opinion from the Trib. The list of players who voted against a recall amendment is worth remembering.
